AVL portfolio expanded with highly scalable and faster data analysis

The operational cooperation between the companies AVL List GmbH and NorCom Information Technology GmbH & Co. KGaA was recently started: The goals of the strategic cooperation of these two companies are the joint development of the DaSense platform, the integration into the AVL solution portfolio with a focus on big data Technologies as well as the realization of extensive worldwide projects.

Wolfgang Puntigam, AVL's Global Business Unit Manager, explains: "The cooperation with NorCom enables us to significantly expand our existing data management product portfolio towards faster and more scalable data analysis to provide our customers with application-oriented, high-volume information throughout the entire vehicle development process."

For NorCom, the cooperation also provides key benefits. "Through the partnership with AVL, we are expanding our previously exclusively direct sales to an indirect channel, which significantly increases our sales opportunities. AVL's global presence also gives us global access to key customers,"explains Dr. Tobias Abthoff, Managing Director at NorCom. "In addition, through close collaboration with the AVL experts, we receive important feedback that we incorporate into the focused development of DaSense."

The purpose of the joint development is to expand NorCom's DaSense software platform to include functionalities relevant to the automotive sector. Based on the extended platform, a software module for the test data management tool suite will be developed, which can process object-based, spatial data, which are especially relevant for autonomous driving. As an integral part of the AVL solution portfolio, the expanded DaSense platform and the software module of AVL and NorCom are to be distributed in initial customer projects and integrated with customers.

The NorCom-developed DaSense technology manages and analyzes large volumes of complex, heterogeneous, semi-structured and highly proprietary data, which are particularly important in the field of autonomous driving.

NorCom Information Technology GmbH & Co. KGaA develops and implements big data solutions for international companies. NorCom helps customers process and analyze their data in global data centers using advanced tools in a productive environment.
